Netflix has dropped a massive official teaser trailer for Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery. On his third star-studded outing of director Star Rian Johnson, Daniel Craig returned to Benoit Blanc. Please read the trailer above and read the information.
New mystery
Little Parish in upstate New York, the impossible of “rock room” style, and Blanc stares at his most personal cases. The young priest Judd Duprene (Josh O’Connor) arrives and the charismatic Monsignor Jefferson Wicks (Josh Brolin), the congregations – Martha Delacroix (Glenn Close), Samson Holt (Thomas Hayden Church), Vera Doraven, Escu (Kelly Washington), Side Doraven (Daryl McCormack), Dr. Nat Sharp (Jeremy Renner), bestselling author Lee Ross (Andrew Scott), and cellist Simone Bibane (Cary Spany) – are shaken by meaningless murder. There are no obvious suspects, but Police Chief Geraldine Scott (Mirakunis) takes Bran and the team to the team and separates the parish.
Leanne Johnson’s Angle
“The film charts the most personal journey ever,” Johnson tells Netflix’s site Tudum. “He is forced to engage with this case in a whole new way, himself.” Each entry is a chance to pivot this genre. “Every time I make one of these films, it’s fun to think, ‘How can I explore a completely different corner of this genre?’ ” ” Johnson says. This time he relies on John Dixon Kerr’s impossible crime tradition. “It’s an alley next to the whodunit genre: an impossible crime. The corpse is in a locked room, with a knife on its back. Pre-determined movements move freely.”
Johnson is also based on a administrative story. “Kristy’s murder in Rev. (Agatha) is a classic, but my biggest influence on the film was GK Chesterton’s father Brown Mystery,” says Johnson. “The themes of humanity, which are guilt, mystery, morality, and false, all feel like they are at home with God’s man in the church.”
