Behind the camera
Beijing Sakurai marks the second feature with 2021 Hidden Camera Comedy Bud Trip and Eric Andre. Sakurai has been working with Andre on Eric Andre Show for a long time, but his TV credits also include episodes of Dave, Twist Metal and Butterly. Expect the off-kilter sensibility led by a big-screen brawler struck bruise.
Behind the script is Darlan Masson, who wrote about two Marvel outings in the Disney+ series, Falcon and Winter Soldiers, and this year’s Captain America: Brave New World.
The team also includes production designer Kevin Kavanaugh (Dark Knight Rise, John Wick: Chapter 4) and stunt coordinator/second unit director John Valera (War’s Chief Aquaman).
