First trailer 28 years later: The Bone Temple landed and saw the next chapter in the franchise 28 days later. Directed by Candyman (2021) and Marvel Hermania Dacosta, this was shot in a row with Danny Boyle 28 years later, released earlier this year. Please see the trailer above and see more details below.
We catch up with Dr. Kelson (Ralph Fiennes). He is dressed in a shocking new relationship.
Young Spike (Alfie Williams) meets Jimmy Crystal (Jack O’Connell) (an aunt who ends in a previous film becomes an inevitable nightmare. The trailer shows Spike falling with Jimmy and his gang. The gang is obsessed with the appearance of Jimmy Saville (the actual English media personality and DJ who were also the focus of the massive sexual abuse allegations).
“Infection is no longer the biggest threat to survival,” the overview states. “The inhumanity of survivors can be strangers and even more frightening.”
In the fourth article, we also see Jim of Cillian Murphy, the protagonist of Danny Boyle’s 2002 film, kicked off everything. “(Jim) will be appearing temporarily in the NIA film,” Boyle said in an interview with Variety earlier this year. “I don’t think it’s giving too much. Our plan is that he’ll be a huge character in the third film.” There’s no title or release date for that third film yet.
28 years later: The Bone Temple is written and produced by Alex Garland. Boyle is also serving as executive producers, as well as Andrew McDonald, Peter Rice and Bernie Bellow.
The film will be released in Australia on January 15th and in the US on January 16th, 2026.
