The pastor, an 8×30 minute drama from a wooden horse, is inspired by the real-life experiences of a pastor at Melbourne Airport, co-created by showrunner Elise McCready and executive producer Jude Troy.
The series follows Rev. Tobias Wallace, who passes through a door that is constantly ringing, a pocket filled with cash, and an unmarked door that is not marked with a clear, unorthodox approach to solving the airport’s daily crisis. Tobias is sure the airport could not run without him and has never met an issue that he cannot fix. He considers him to be walking responsibility until he meets his fearsome, uneasy, young boss Carmen. Their clash ignites a power play that passes through the terminal and ripples into the lives of the surrounding cleaners, luggage handlers and passengers.
McCready writes with Sarah Basiouni, Mithilla Gupta and Thomas Weatherall. Production at the Pastor will begin in Victoria later this year, with cast members announced in the coming months.

“For the next few hours, he took me on an eye-opening adventure deep inside the airport, and I have been sharing stories of connections with the human race that I have been with since. I realized how richness and drama is hidden in this world.
