Playtonics today announced that Yooka-Replayee will be released on October 9th on PS5, Xbox Series X | S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC.
Those who own the original game will receive 30% when purchasing on the same platform. This game is a complete remake with new currency and improved controls and cameras, amid a sophisticated storyline, upgraded graphics, a new Lextro arcade, new currency, and many other improvements you can find below.
Sophisticated Story: The events of the first game are relied and retold by the main characters, Yooka and Laylee. New sequences and plot points have also been added throughout the adventures at major milestones. Upgraded Graphics: With an art and animation overhaul and performance and resolution enhancements, your favorite buddy duo has never looked or moved. Brand new “Rextro’s Arcade”: No more old mini-games! Instead, they jump into the legs of the dinosaur Lextro and take on the challenge of a brand new isometric platform for collectible rewards. New Collecting Currency: Capital B’s Inept Minions have dropped their hard-earned coins everywhere. Collect the official currency of Hivory Towers and spend it on video games’ most beloved vending machines. Build your own playstyle: Tonic is back with all new flavors! The option to equip multiple game-changing enhancements allows you to truly customize your PlayStyle. And as if that wasn’t enough, Vendi has a new line of goods for modern fashionable adventurers. Navigate the world with ease: Yooka-Replaylee introduces new maps and collectible trackers, making it easy to go through the environment, track NPCs and Pagie locations, and track progress. We also introduce new character (book) marks that will serve as your warp points and guides. Revamped Controls and Camera: Buddy-Duo now has access to the entire move set from the start of the game, allowing you to sequence movements much more smoothly than the original game. This, combined with improved camera controls, makes Yooka-replayleefeel a more modern and snapper-ering experience, addressing player feedback directly on the original game. Dreamy Orchestral Soundtrack: The original scores of famous video game composers Grant Kirkhope (Banjo-Kazooie) and David Wise (Donkey Kong Country) are back, but as beautifully arranged orchestral scores. Now, seriously, clean those ears!
We gave Yooka-Laylee 6/10 in the original review. Shannon said: Game mechanics will probably ruin the experience for you.
