Sam Fisher’s first appearance has arrived. Netflix has dropped the official teaser trailer for Splinter Cell: Death Watch for upcoming animated series Tom Clancy. The old ghosts are back on the grid – old, mean, and equally deadly. Please read the trailer above and read more about it.
What the teaser shows
Liev Schreiber (Ray Donovan, Perfect Couple) intervenes as Fisher’s voice, and the teaser wastes no time showing him to his elements: night vision flares, silent takedowns, and a harsh vow – “It’s personal.” Setup reads Ubisoft’s logline “Sam Fisher is pulled back into the field when the injured young surgeon seeks his help.” A keen eyed fan finds a tomb marked by Douglas Shetland and places this story somewhere after the events of Chaos Theory.
Sprinter Cell: Death Watch Cast and Crew
Alongside Schreiber, the voice cast includes Zinnia McKenna’s Kirby Howell-Baptiste (The Sandman), Janet Varney as Anna Grímsdóttir, and Joel Oulette as Thunder.
Behind the scenes, John Wick creator Derek Kolstado leads the charges as headwriter and executive producer. This is a name that should immediately attract interest to fans of tightly choreographed high stakes action.
The direction comes from the Guillaume Dousse and Félicien Colmet-Daage, and from the Sun Creature and Fost animations. Hélène Juguet, Hugo Revon and Gérard Guillemot from Ubisoft Film & Television are also executive produced.
The legend of stealth is back
This marked the first screen adaptation of the Sprinter Cell game, which ultimately pulled Sam Fisher into a serialized animation format from a decade of absence from the game. And that’s not Ubisoft’s Netflix’s only streaming push. Streaming Giant also has a live-action Assassin’s Creed series along the way.
Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Deathwatch will premiere globally on Netflix on October 14th.
