Netflix has dropped the official trailer for Cabin 10, a mystery thriller on a yacht set led by Keira Knightley. Check out the trailer above and read the essentials.
set up
Journalist Rock Rock (Knightley), sent to cover the voyage of a gorgeous superyacht maiden, witnesses a woman falling into her death and soon meets polite distrust. “I don’t imagine this,” she insists on the trailer.
Powerful owner Richard Bloomer (Guy Pierce) shruggs it, as fellow passengers (including Kaya Scodelario and Daniel Ins) take away close ranks, and what should have been a more and more challenge turns into a claustrophobic hunt of truth. LO refuses to retreat, even if the dangers make her tough. “These people run the world. Don’t make them mad,” she is warned by her photographer ally Ben (David Ajara).
Stone angle and influence
Writer-director Simon Stone (Digger) is firmly in Lo’s Corner in advance about where the film wants you. “I don’t have to question whether she saw what she saw,” Stone tells Tudum. “You fully agree with her. It’s her fight against the plot.”
The filmmakers cite the touchstones of the ’70s paranoia, a lineage of marathon man, croute, conversation and condor – three days – Hitchcock’s lineage. “Finding that tradition was really exciting, with a different energy than gender,” adds Stone.
Cast, Creative, Release Date
“It’s an incredibly stacked cast,” Stone says. “Kyra led in an extraordinary way, and so did Guy. But the whole ensemble was amazing.” The cast includes Ted Lasso’s Hannah Wadindam (playing Gossip Heidi), Kaya Scodelario (Influencer Grace), Daniel Ings (Media Hier Adam), as well as Gugu Mbasa Law, David Morrissey and Art Malik.
This marks the third feature of Stone after Daughter (2015) and The Dig (2021) on Netflix. He co-written the adaptation with Joe Shrapnell and Anna Waterhouse (their credits include Race, The After, Snake Eyes: GI Joe Origins).
The Cabin 10 women sail to Netflix on October 10th.
