A brutal trailer has been released for Sisu: Road to Revenge. This is the sequel to writer-director Jalmari Helander’s 2023 Sisu, with Jorma Tommila returning as Badass Aatami Korpi.
Set in 1946, this plot leaves Kolpi to return to the house where his family was murdered, to dismantle it, load it into a truck, and rebuild it in a safe place for his honor. Peace won’t last. The co-stars of Stephen Lang (Avatar, Don’t Breathe) are co-stars as Igor Draganov, commander of the Red Army, who is responsible for Kolpi’s losses.
The trailer is piled up with over-the-top mayhem. Kolpi reverses the truck and sends soldiers through the landscape. Cut out the low-flight surface that blocks the log stack in its path. Pitax was thrown straight into the enemy’s mouth. If you kill Girly after crazy action, this looks like you have a lot.
Helander has returned as a writer and director. There are also cast members including Richard Brake (Barbarian, Mayor of Kingstown).
The first movie was a fun surprise hit. I hope there’s a worthy follow-up here. Sisu: Road to Revenge will begin at Australian cinemas on November 20th and at US cinemas on November 21st.
