Tom Holland is back in his suit. This time, he’s kicking things on a Glasgow tank.
Sony has released the above behind the scenes video from the first day of filming of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, giving fans a glimpse into the actor’s fourth “first day” as MCU’s Peter Parker.
The footage prepares to shoot a high-wire stunt that teases hatch from a moving armored vehicle, as Netherlands arrives on set, with greeting director Destin Daniel Kretton (Shanchi and the 10-ring legend, just mercy) and Spider-Man preparing to shoot a high-wire stunt that tears the hatch from a moving armored vehicle.
“I feel that’s different this time.”
“Yeah, I feel good, man. That’s my fourth day, my first day with Spider-Man,” Holland says in the video. “You know, it’s funny, and I feel it’s different this time, wearing a suit, and it’s also the first time I’ve had a fan on a set.
This clip shows that it will take some time to meet some of these fans, including Young Spider-Man cosplayers, before the Netherlands return to work. “There are some faces that are familiar to the set,” he adds. “I’ll just do my best, hopefully I’ll make it right. There’s no pressure.”

Go back to the real street
For the Netherlands, filming in Glasgow marks a welcome change from the full filming of Spider-Man in 2021. Prior to production last month, he explained that he is looking forward to returning to its actual location.
“Now we’re going to lean on a really old-fashioned filmmaking and shoot in real places, so we’re starting out in Glasgow and we’re going to use the city of Glasgow to build this huge set piece,” the actor said. “So (2017) it’s going to feel like I’m making Spider-Man 1 again. It’s been a long time since I did it and it’s going to feel like a breath of fresh air. I think fans are going over the moon with what we’re getting together.”
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is directed by Cretton and is back with newcomers Sadie Sink and Liza Colón-Zayas with cast member Zendaya as MJ and Ned Leeds as Jacob Batalon.
The film will sway in cinemas around Australia on July 31, 2026.
