Sony Pictures Animation has released the first trailer for Goat, a CG animated sports comedy that throws one small goat into the wildest contact sports in the world.
Stranger Things star Caleb McLaughlin (he plays Lucas in the hit Netflix series) is a crude underdog with a dream of rollball glory.
Please see the trailer above for more information.
The lowball is loud
Roarball is not your standard hoop match. It is a high contact, coed, chaos-driven sport where courts shift between games between lava, ice and jungle. And it is usually dominated by predators. So, when Will is drafted into a pro-level Vineland thorn, the rest of the team isn’t exactly excited about his new goat-sized teammate. To prove he lacks size, he makes up with grit. And maybe he’ll change the game while he’s in it.
The world of curry works
The effects of curry continue throughout. As a producer, he helps shape the sports and aesthetics of the film, and his real-world teammate Andre Iguodala consults in gameplay. The film’s sophisticated streetwear-inspired look gives a nod to Curry’s Under Armour brand. It is part of a bold design led by character designer Elan Albou and costume designer Dominique Dawson.
The team behind the animals
Co-directed by Bob’s Burger alumni, director Tyree Dilihai and Adam Rosett (Wild Robot, Bad), the goat also features voices from Gabriel Union, Nicola Coffran, Nicola Kroll, David Harbor, Jennifer Lewis, Patton Oswalt and Jennifer Hudson.
release date
The goat will shoot at Australian cinemas on February 12th and at US cinemas on February 13th, 2026.
