Warren is back – last time. Warner Bros. closed the horror saga that began in 2013 and dropped the official Tenkoling trailer. Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson have retired for a long time, despite Lorraine and Ed Warren being retired. The trailer above and the following information.
A new cold case brings Warren back. That’s what they’ve crossed the road before. “This thing in your home is a demon,” shook Lorraine tells the frightening family in the trailer. “This is the first thing we’ve ever met. We were young. We were scared. We ran away. And after all these years, it wasn’t over with our family.”
The final ritual, set in 1986, is drawn into one final investigation involving the Sumar family of Pennsylvania, and continues with Warrens. But this is not just a case. As Farmiga said in an interview with EW earlier this year, “This is different from the others. The other three are about haunts, and this is something that is considered in a way.”
Farmiga and Wilson will be joined by Mia Tomlinson and Ben Hardy as Judy Warren and Tony Spera, and Steve Coulter as Father Gordon. The cast also includes Rebecca Calder, Elliot Cowan, Kira Lord Cassidy, Beau Gadon, John Brotherton and Shannon Cook.
The film is directed by Michael Chavez, who is certainly familiar with the franchise. The script is written by Ian Goldberg, Richard Nairing and David Leslie Johnson McGoldrick and works from stories created by Johnson McGoldrick and James Wang. WAN has overseen chapters 1 and 2 of this hit horror universe and remains obsessed with the producer.
The Conjuring: Last Rites will open at Australian cinemas on September 4th and at US cinemas on September 5th.
