“Whistle” trailer: Daphne Keene and Nick Frost face Aztec curse in new horror film

The sound of death is coming. IFC and Shudder dropped the creepy first teaser trailer for Whistle. Check out the trailer above and see more details below.

Directed by Nun and Hallow filmmaker Corin Hardy, the film follows a group of Misfit students who blow the cursed Aztec mouths away. The cold sounds kick the spiral of supernatural fear as they mark them for death and reveal the origins of the whistle and rush to find a way. The script comes from Owen Egerton (Bloodfest, Mercy Black).

The cursed crew are Logan, Deadpool and Wolverine’s Breakout Daphne Keene, Yellow Jacket star Sophie Nelisse, and Wednesday’s Percy Hines White, Sky Yang, Jareil Swaby, Ali Scoveby, Michelle Fairy and Nick Frost.

“The whistle is made with the same heart sleeve found in my favorite genre films I grew up watching, and won – teen spirit,” Hardy said in a statement when the film’s US rights were acquired this May. “I was drawn to the mystical myth surrounding the ‘whi of death’ and the way that presented me with the opportunity to create a variety of cinematic, imaginative and horrifying deaths. The film is built for a big screen experience, so audiences can’t wait for the audience to blow away the trembling of independent film companies and cinemas! ”

Adam Koehler, director of acquisition and production of independent film companies Shudder and Rlje Films, added:

The whistle will hit the cinema in 2026. The exact release date has not been announced yet.
