Apple TV+ has released the “Official Lost Bus trailer.” This is a survival thriller that looks like an emotional and nerve suppression equivalent. Matthew McConaughey and American Ferrera lead the charges. Take a look at the trailer above and scroll down to see more details.
A tragic escape through fire and fear
2018 Campfire in Paradise, California – the deadliest wildfire in the history of the state – The Lost Bus is at the heart of Kevin (McConaughey). It’s too late.
Directed by Paul Greengrass (United 93, Captain Phillips), the trailer suggests the harsh, grossly scarring realism he is known for. Smoke, burning roads, blocked roads – travel is not easy. It is two ordinary adults, trying to stay calm and makes impossible decisions as the danger closes.
“It’s too late,” Kevin says at one point badly. “I’m too late as a father,” Mary replies: “It’s not too late,” and in what appears to be one of the film’s most pivotal moments, Kevin slams the accelerator as the bass roars towards the fire wall.
From books to screens with a veteran team
The film is adopted by Paradise. Journalist Lizzie Johnson’s Town Trouble to Survive American Wildfires is executive producer. Jamie Lee Curtis brought the project to Blumhouse after hearing that Johnson interviewed at NPR and produced the film through a comet photo banner. Greengrass, Blood Ingelsby, Gregorian Goodman and Jason Blum also participate as producers.
Greengrass shares script duties with Ingelsby (Marle, East Town), and the film brings together a strong crew behind the scenes. James Newton Howard (The Dark Knight, King Kong) scores, with filming by Paul Urvik Roxes (July 22) and David Crank (Master, Knife Out) handling the production design.
Joining McConaughey and Ferrera are Yul Vazquez, Ashley Atkinson and Spencer Watson.
The Lost Bus will open on Select US Cinemas on September 19th and will be played worldwide on Apple TV+ from October 3rd.
