The highly anticipated Alien: Earth series is revealed in the second official trailer. Fargo and Legion creator Noah Holy’s FX production series gives us another harsh taste of what happens when a corporate dystopia, AI hybrid and one iconic acid blood alien collides. Check out the new trailer above and read more.
Hybrid with a crisis of consciousness
The sci-fi horror series is centered around Wendy (Sidney Chandler, don’t worry about Darling). As she awakens to the Earth after the crash and slowly begins to understand her identity, she asks: “If I’m not human, what am I?”
Particularly considering that Earth in 2120 is always run by five mega corporations, including Sinister Weyland Yutani, a fair question, raw with synthetic, cyborg and now clearly Xenomorph.
Xenomorph is back – and this time that’s our problem
The trailer’s slow burn tone is built towards real fear, something obvious about the iconic extraterrestrial threat. The crash landing of the Deep Space Container USCSS Maginot seems to have brought something horrible in it. “We won’t lock them up… it’ll be too late,” Timothy Oliphant’s character Kirsch (Wendy’s synthetic leader and trainer), shouts the military as he screams.
The line between humans and machines begins to blur as Wendy and his soldiers face the growing threat.
