CD Projekt Red and Apple have announced that the CyberPunk 2077 Ultimate Edition will be coming to Apple Macs this week. Available on the Mac App Store, Gog, Steam and The Epic Games Store, and those who own the game on the latter three platforms also have access to the Mac games.
The Ultimate Edition includes an extension to the Phantom Liberty and runs on a Mac with Apple silicon and 16GB of memory. This game is customized for Apple Silicon models, allowing you to make the most of your potential. The entire experience is the same as all other platforms with cross saves, including the latest 2.3 patches introducing new photo modes, additional cars and more.
At launch, the game will feature “This Mac” graphics presentations, MetalFX Upscaling, AMD FSR Upscaling, spatial audio with head tracking on AirPods, calibration HDR for Apple XDR displays, game controller support, magic mouse and trackpad support.
Apple has already confirmed that the game will improve later this year, and the launch of the Macos Tahoe 26 includes the following new features:
We will also take advantage of the upcoming Metal 4 features of Metal FX Frame Interpolation and MetalFX Removal (Metal FX Frame Interpolation and MetalFX Removal) that will be available in future updates of CyberPunk 2077. MetalFX frame interpolation generates intermediate frames for each of two input frames to achieve a more stable frame rate. Cyberpunk’s rich visuals make the most of the graphical power of Apple Silicon. And MetalFX brings incredible performance to the game. MetalFX upscaling and future frame interpolation and pairings allow the game to hit solid 120 frames per second in the game’s ultra settings. These additional frames make the gameplay feel very smooth and provide incredible fidelity. The CyberPunk 2077 on Mac features MetalFX deformation, allowing real-time pass tracing with the highest quality graphics settings of the game.
This is a big moment for Macs when Cyberpunk 2077 will be taking part in Assassin’s Creed Shadows (stopping dates and dates) and more earlier this year. We’ll take a closer look at what’s running on a Mac soon.
