Netflix announced a big official trailer for season 2, part 1 on Wednesday. Psychic vision, tense family ties and the threat of death hanging on her close friends have led Adams back to Nevermore Academy on Wednesday with more on her plate. The trailer above and the following information:
Life on Enid’s Line – and Wednesday may be responsible
The trailer doesn’t have time to raise the stake. During the vision, Wednesday (Jenna Ortega) sees her best friend and roommate Enid Sinclair (Emma Myers) die and believes she is somehow responsible. “Enid dies, and it’s all my fault,” she says.
It’s a twist to promise to test her on Wednesday in a way she’s never faced before. “Wednesday will definitely need to navigate a lot of relationships, mainly season 2 with her mother and Enid,” co-creator Miles Miles told Netflix site Tudum. “She discovers that these relationships are dangerous and that it’s not easy. We really wanted to find some new obstacles on Wednesday. She thinks it’s all in control and discovers that human interaction isn’t as easy as she thought it would.”
“Enid and Wednesday now understand each other on a deeper level. It’s fun to explore our friendship with Jenna,” Myers said.
New grade, new principal, same old Adam problem
The new trailer confirms that Nevermore Academy has a new principal: Barry Dort, played by Steve Buscemi. According to co-creator Alfred Goff, Dort brings a very different energy to the school.
And that Enid is at risk and her powers take action – a vision that brings black tears and unpredictable outcomes – a sense of normal certainty on Wednesday may be her revocation. “We’re sure to have the biggest Achilles heels on Wednesday,” Goff said. “She’s very sure she knows what’s right all the time, and that’s not.”
Non-comfortable family reunion
This season, Wednesday’s world is even more complicated thanks to increasingly involved families. Her younger brother, Pugsley (Isaac Ordnez), is currently a student at Nevermore.
And then there are Morticia (Katherine Zeta Jones) and Gomez (Lewis Guzman). The tension between Morticia and her daughter between Wednesday bumps into new heights – literally with the fencing sword.
Hester Frump (also known as Grandma), Morticia’s mother, is also featured. Miller said, “At the top of our list was Joanna Lumley.” Lumley himself said, “The world they created here, it looks sensational. It’s Gothic, and sometimes it’s quite bone-shattered, but it’s kind of playful.”
Lady Gaga, new characters and bigger stories
Lady Gaga has been confirmed by guest stars as Rosaline Lottwood, the legendary Nevermore teacher who appears in Part 2. Other rookies this season include Billy Piper, Owen Painter, Evie Templeton and Noah B. Taylor, along with guest stars such as Tandiwe Newton, Christopher Lurodo, Francis O’Connor and Hay Joel Male Male Male Male Male Male Male Male Male Male Male Male Male Male Male Male Male Male Male O’Sent.
