The boys officially filmed the fifth and final season. After eight years of gore, satire, and super-powerful mayhem, without hinges, Prime Video’s flagship anti-superhero series enveloped production, marking the beginning of the end of the butcher, Homelander and the rest of the bloody crew.
Showrunner Eric Kripke shared the news on July 1st with a heartfelt farewell from the set of Vought HQ. “This is the last time I’ll be on this set. It’ll be demolished soon. It’s bittersweet, but my main feeling is thanks,” Kricke wrote on Instagram.
“We have the best cast, the best crew, the most fun stories for Wite, and the things that are impossible to predict. The right timing. If you’re lucky, you’ll probably wait for two things to do.
He concluded with a message to the fans: “Thank you for watching, I can’t wait for you to see the grand finale.”
Cast a farewell and emotional rap
Several cast members have shared goodbye on social media, reflecting what the series means to them.
Erin Moriarty, who plays Starlight, said goodbye to Instagram, “To be honest, I wrote, “Don’t cry because it’s over, don’t cry because it happened, don’t cry with a smile.” Tears began.

Tomar Capone, who plays the Frenchman, said, “Plotting a Frenchman was the longest journey I’ve ever filmed with a character.

I left things in season 4
The season 4 finale didn’t just leave viewers with a cliffhanger. The entire stadium was formed.
Now embracing the dark side of his mind, the butcher uses his new power to kill Victoria Neumann and steal a virus designed to wipe out the soup. Ryan accidentally kills Mallory and runs away after being told by the butcher to kill his father. Meanwhile, Homelander’s grip on power has reached a frightening new heights. His enemies were neutralised and the dolls were drawn firmly in the hand with strings, so he removed the President of the United States and replaced them with Stephen Calhoun.
Annie, French, Huey and the rest of the boys weren’t that good. Their fate, captured and separated, is unknown – although Annie has regained her strength, but manages to escape. In the mid-credit scene, Homelander was shown holding cells of a soldier boy.
When will Boys Season 5 be released?
No official release date has been announced, but don’t expect to see season 5 someday in 2026. Season 4 was wrapped in April 2024 and did not premiere until June 2024.
In the meantime, the spinoff series Gen V will return with Season 2 on September 17th, but other spinoffs like Vought Rising and The Boys: Mexico are in development.
For now, the fans need to hold it tight – the end is coming. Fingers beyond Season 5 will explosive and satisfying farewell to one of the boldest shows on television.
