Netflix
Emily Cooper has been swapping croissants for Calborla for at least a while.
Production in Emily for Paris Season 5 is currently underway, with filming officially kicking off in May. Netflix marked the opportunity with behind the scenes footage and the bullying of Roma Set featuring star Lily Collins, who plays Italian fashion heir Marcello, and co-star Eugenio Francescini. Filming will return to Paris later in the summer, as confirmed by Netflix.
Let’s take a look at everything we know so far about the fifth season of Netflix ROM-COM.
Rome will become a new runway
The series may not change its name anytime soon, but Emily in Paris is traversing the City of Light. In season 5, Emily spent quite a bit of time in Rome and was tasked with opening a new Agence Grateau office.
“The cast and crew of Emily in Paris are excited to start filming season 5 in the Eternal City,” creator Darren Starr told Netflix’s site Tudum. “We can’t wait to share the next chapter of Emily taking us from the rooftops of Paris to the ruins of Rome.”
But don’t worry – Paris still plays a role. “It doesn’t mean she’s not in Paris,” Starr added. “But she will be in Rome.”
A complicated life of love (of course)
The new season recovers emotionally and geographically after Emily’s big moves. Emily began her romance with the dashing Marcello in season 4, leaving her entanglement with Gabriel behind.
“Marcello is a completely different adventure we want for Emily because we want to help her balance her work and life,” Collins said. “We want to be able to smile at Emily. We want to see her beyond her vacant mode, and he’s coming at that perfect time.”
The star confirmed that Marcello’s storyline is not an escape. “It feels like they have a real spark, a real connection and a real romantic connection,” he said. “Many of them will continue playing next season.”
Still, Gabriel (Lucas Bravo) is not exactly off the picture. As Collins said, “Gabriel has to deal with the effects of his choices.”
Returned face and new additions
The season will feature Philippine Leroy Beaulieu, Ashley Park, Samuel Arnold, Bruno Gurley, William Abadi, Lucian Lavis tribes, Talia Besson and Arnaud Binado. Also returning is Paul Forman as Nico and a fresh addition Brian Greenberg as American foreigner Jake.
Newer in the cast are Sylvie’s old friend Yvette and Michelle LaLock as Minnie Driver. He joins as Princess Jane.
release date?
There is no exact date to lock in yet, but we know that Season 5 is due to premiere later this year.
The fourth season premiered in August 2024, surpassing Netflix’s global top 10, with 19.9 million viewings in the first four days and a powerful show.
With new offices, new romances and potential old flames still burning, Emily’s European adventures are far from over.
