FX continues to cook bears. The acclaimed comedy drama was officially renewed for the fifth season less than a week after the release of Season 4.
This update is behind what FX described as the latest season’s “White Hot Start,” and dropped all 10 episodes on June 26th.
“Bear continues to be a fan favorite around the world, and their reaction to this season has been as spectacular as previous seasons, as seen through an incredibly high audience,” said John Landgraf, president of FX. “The annual producer, cast and crew, Chris Stoller, has become one of the best shows on television and we are excited to continue telling this epic story.”
The official premiere date has not been revealed, but the new season is expected to arrive in 2026. Seasons 3 and 4 were filmed in succession to accommodate the show’s increasingly packed schedule. Jeremy Allen White, who plays Carmi, will be appearing in the upcoming biopic Springsteen.
Created by Christopher Stoller, Bear stars White as Carmen “Kermy” Bertzat, Ayo Edebili, Sidney Adam, Richard “Ritchie” Jerimovich as Moss Bachalach. The cast includes Abby Elliott, Lionel Boyce, Liza Colon Zayas and Matty Matheson, with Oliver Pratt and Molly Gordon in recurring roles.
Since his debut, Bear has been a critical beloved person. He won 11 Emmy Awards in his second season – the best comedy ever in a year. The show was also named AFI TV Show of the Year for its first three seasons. Season 4 currently holds an 84% certified fresh score on Rotten Tomatoes.
The series is produced by FX Productions and can be streamed on Disney+ in Australia and Hulu in the US
