Netflix has released the first teaser trailer for In Your Dreams, an animated comedian adventure that takes viewers on a visually surreal journey into the dream landscape. Please see the above for more details.
The story follows his brothers Stevie (voiced by Jolie Hoan Rappaport) and Elliot (voiced by Elias Jansen). Their discoveries draw them into the strange realm of dreams, where the mythical Sandman (voiced by Omid djalili) promises to give them their ultimate wish: The Perfect Family.
Along the way, the brothers encountered zombie breakfast food, a sequence of naked dreams, Elliott’s long-lost giraffe, Baronie Tony – voiced by Craig Robinson. The film also features voices from Shim Liu, Christine Milioti, Zia Currie, Sungwon Cho and Zachary Noah Pizza.
This potential animated Oscar competitor is directed by former Pixar staffer Alexander Wu. Credits for Alexander Wu, storyboarding and animation work 2 on Wall E and the incredible movies. Wu co-written the script with Eric Benson, who has the story in Pixar’s “Good Dynoas.”
“Dreams have always fascinated me, and the dream movie in the animation space was a white whale,” Wu said at the Sneak Peak event cited by Forbes. “Every animation studio in the world has had a dream film in development at some point over the past decades, but no one has been made because I don’t think anyone can find a way to give a stake in a dream film.
This project was very personal to Wu, who portrayed his own family experiences for inspiration. “I have a younger brother and Elliot is based on him. I’m very similar to Stevie. My brother and I had an epic battle with us throughout our childhood,” he shared. “One of my good friends knew me a little better and watched the film and said, ‘Is this a mere evasive way to tell your brother that you love him?” And I think “Do you think so?” movies are easier than dealing with your feelings. ”
Wu also praised Craig Robinson for his contributions to the film, saying, “I was very excited when he agreed to appear in the film because he was a genius. His performance as Tony is just amazing. He brought so much energy to the character.
In your dream, it will premiere on Netflix on November 14th.
