Apple today announced at WWDC that the standalone Apple Games app will be available for iPhone, iPad and MacOS.
On iPhone and iPad, the Apple Games app will bring all the games in Apple Arcade together, help you discover, and also become your friend list in the app, allowing you to play games and challenge friends in one place. It will be available at the launch of iOS 26 and iPad OS 26 and will be released later this year.
Large-scale transactions will be over on Macs, where the Macs Tahoe 26 also introduces the Apple Games app. This brings back Apple Arcade and other AAA games, as well as games from friends, to one place, but we’ll also show you the game overlay.
This allows you to adjust your system settings on the fly, chat with friends, manage your Bluetooth devices, expand your gaming sessions, and turn on low power modes that maximize battery life without releasing the full screen app.
Apple also confirmed that Metalfx Upscaling has come to an improvement. This is what we’re seeing will be useful for many games later this year, including Cyberpunk 2077, Cronos: The New Dawn, Architect: Lies of P: Overture, Hitman World of Assasination, Eve Frontier, Where Where Where Where Where Where Where Of Eve’s Lies, Cyberpunk 2077, Cronos: The Lies of Exiles: lies of Po of Po of Po.
