Baby Reindeer creator Richard Gad will head to Melbourne for the second edition of the TV Summit Future Vision next month, joining the lineup with British creator Sally Wainwright and American writer, producer and showrunner Sueugh.
To be held at ACMI from July 14-16, this year’s event will be on the theme of “optimism” and the session will invite participants to rethink what is possible amid the shrinking global market, regulatory uncertainty and the rise of AI.
It was the subject of the Scottish actor and comedian who was caught in the storm with the release of his semi-autobiographical Netflix series, 12 months ago, detailing how his experience with a female stalker forced him to stand up to the long Held trauma.
The raw, rude nature of the story has been hit by nervousness worldwide, winning numerous international awards, including six Emmys. It is also said that a Scottish lawyer who allegedly influenced the character of Martha, played by Jessica Gunning, sued Netflix for a USD 170 million tuning. The case is currently in the US Court of Appeals.

GADD has already moved to the next project, writing, executive produced, G and starring in Half Man, a BBC and HBO six-episode limited series that began filming in Scotland earlier this year. Jamie Bell is also part of the cast.
He said events like visions of the future are “very important.”
“They bring together people who are interested in pushing boundaries, taking risks and telling stories that mean something,” he said.
Guests also hear about Halifax gentleman Jack and Last Tango from Wainwright, known for creating and directing the long-running Yorkshire drama Happy Valley.
The BAFTA Award winner said she was pleased that she had the opportunity to visit the country as it was where Deadloch, one of her favourite series in recent years, was filmed.
“It was always a winning combination for me because I loved (Deadloch) and it was just as ridiculous as dark,” she said.
“I’m happy to be able to visit the location where it was filmed.”
Coming from the US is Hugh, the creator nominated for Bafta for Peabody-Winning by Applet V+ Series Pachinko, an adaptation of Min Jin Lee’s bestselling novel.

She said her vision for the future is an invaluable opportunity to “be inspired by voices to hear, exchange ideas and see the world a little differently.”
“Throughout my career, I have been fortunate to learn from the extraordinary storytellers who have taught me the power of vision.

As in last year, Made Up Stories founder and CEO Bruna Papandrea and writer/showrunner Tony Ayres will co-chair the three-day event that Australians will feature in the film, in collaboration with Partners Screen Australia and Vicscreen.
The summit begins on the date of publication, allowing the public to get in touch with established creatives and industry stakeholders, then moves to a two-day invitation-only session with top-class writers, directors, producers and commissioning executives.

The program includes a combination of keynote and case studies, and is available for those who cannot make it to Melbourne on days held via livestream.
