ScreenWest has called Western Australia’s “Grand Old Mansion,” “A Charming Country Pub,” and “Unique Outback Site.”

Currently, the Western Australia location gallery on ScreenWest has a list of 1,900 including 150 historic buildings and sites, and is listed as a registered film location.

Production, especially TV dramas – With the state rising and Perthfilm Studios opened in Malaga to open next year, the agency wants to add it to the gallery so that it can help producers and location scouts.

Anyone can nominate a location for the gallery. The ScreenWest Production Attraction team will then review all listings to ensure that they meet your requirements.

BBC Studios Production Australia and Paramount Australia Rapped Ghosts Australia were filmed last week at Studio in East Perth at Woodbridge House near Midland.

The state’s Wheatbelt York was used to produce a family-friendly adaptation of the town’s grand heritage architecture and unique characters at Yorktown Hall, Castle Hotel and Balladon farms, and the nearby Buckland Estates, with the unique characters of the town.

Mystery Road: Kid Snow, a 1970s tent boxing film filmed at the Federal Hotel in Boulder, used two famous sheds in Kalgoorie and the 96-year-old 100th anniversary pavilion at Claremont Showground.

Built in 1912, the Augusta Hotel stood out in Silver, Silver: Silver, an adaptation of Chris Hammer’s bestselling book, which includes a stunning view of the Blackwood River. Bremer Bay’s historic Wellsted Farm, museum and cafe were important blueback locations.

Inspired by Holden Sheppard’s debut novel, Invisible Boys used Dongara Denison Drive-In (one of the few remaining drive-ins in Western Australia) as the location of the series.

“Western Australia has some incredible historic locations, impressive scenery and unique attractions that require a filmmaking team.

“We have seen significant improvements in screen production in Western Australia, particularly on television and streaming platforms, and we expect this to increase only if Perthfilm Studios opens in Malaga early next year.

“Many of Western Australia’s oldest buildings and sites have a rich history and character that creates viable and often impressive locations for film and television.

“We are always looking for great places to help us sell Western Australia as a destination. Having a comprehensive location gallery will help us attract large projects to provide social, cultural and economic outcomes to the nation.

“York has been particularly successful as an area location for a series of impressive heritage buildings, including Landmark Yorktown Hall, Balladon Farm and the beautiful Buckland Estate nearby. Proximity to Perth is an additional draw.”
