Netflix has finally seen when Stranger Things will return and how it will go out.
The streaming giant has confirmed its long-awaited release date during the global Tudum event. There, a new trailer has also been dropped, blending nostalgic highlights with creepy new footage. It is shaped to become an emotionally recharged final chapter.
Season 5, the final chapter of my beloved sci-fi horror saga, arrives in volume three in the final week of 2025. Here’s the release date:

It’s exciting that we’re finally back at Hawkins, but you’ll be forgiven for not being excited exactly with the drip feed approach to the end. After all, it’s been about three years since Season 4 fell, but now the breakup has grown for five weeks. Still, there are many things I look forward to. And, in contrast to the one-night rampage, there is certainly a debate to savor goodbye.
New trailer/promotion (see above)
In addition to the release date, Netflix has dropped a new trailer that mixes nostalgia with Dread. The dated announcement promotion looks back at major moments throughout the show’s four seasons, from the gang’s first bike ride through Hawkins to the upside down 11 fights, but also includes a brief glimpse into the new season.
The final moments are particularly ominous. Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) holds his head and screams, and Jim (David Harbor). Joyce (Winona Rider) is ready, waiting for x in his hand, waiting for something. Will Byers (Noah Schnapp) looks up at the invisible monster and screams, “run!”

What to expect in Season 5: Darkness, Danger, Dungeons
Set in the fall of 1987, the story takes up after Hawkins was torn upside down by a rift. The government locks up the town, 11 people are once again hidden, and for now Vekna is gone.
According to the official summary, “Our heroes are united by a single goal. They find and kill Bekna. But his whereabouts and plans are unknown.” The town’s segregation and growing delusions can cause tension, but the personal interests of each character are set to be strengthened in preparation for an epic showdown.
“As Will’s Lost of Anniversary approaches, so does the heavy, familiar horror,” reads the summary. “The final battle is upon us – and by that there is the darkness that is more powerful and deadly than anything they’ve faced before. They all need to stand together and stand together to end this nightmare.”
The cast and new faces of the final chapter
Cast members include Winona Ryder, David Harbor, Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolf Hard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Sadicink, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keely, Maya Hawk, Pria Ferroson and Brett German. Jamie Campbell Bauer returns as Vecna.
Newcomers include Terminator star Linda Hamilton, who will be cast in mystical roles, including Dr. Kay, Nell Fisher, Jake Connery and Alex Blow.
The episode’s title advances the mysterious path
Netflix has also revealed the episode title for its final season. Well, almost everything. Episode 2 remains partially edited and keeps the theory alive. Here is the complete list:
Crawl… Turn Bow Trap Magician Shock Jock Kamazotz escapes the bridge and escapes right side
With three shifted drops, some fans have called this a depicted farewell. But for many, the chance to return to Hawkins to the end is reason enough to celebrate, as it dives deep into the highly anticipated answer of upside down and has the potential to be a proper send-off of a beloved character.
The internet and those groups will simply chat every few weeks starting November 26th to make spoilers heavy!
