The Cyberpunk 2077 sequel will feature a second playable city

Speaking at the event, R. Mike Pondsmith, founder of Talsorian Games and author of Cyberpunk’s tabletop version, was asked about the expected sequel to Cyberpunk 2077 and the upcoming project Orion.

Pondsmith successfully stayed with the details, but he explained that he wasn’t as closely involved in the sequel as it was the original, but he remains in a loop as to how it is progressing. He is expected to slip through the city that night and run as an important place for follow-up, but there is a second city. But he didn’t go into further detail.

“I’m not directly involved, but I’ll look at the script,” Pondsmith confirmed. “I spent a lot of time talking to one of the guys in the environment, and he was explaining a new place because there is another city we visit.

“And I’m not telling you any more, but there’s another city we visit. The night city is still there.”

The game designer also continued to insist that the city “doesn’t feel like a Blade Runner, it feels like Chicago is wrong.” This is certainly interesting.

The sequel, developed by the original and the core team behind its extended Phantom Liberty, has recently moved its development to Boston, so perhaps it will do an even better job of capturing the original Americana in the real world.
