Bethesda has used X to officially announce that Doom: The Dark Ages is not only the biggest launch of the franchise, but also a 3 million players.

DOOM: The Dark Ages hit the milestone seven times faster than its predecessor, Doom Etern, marking the historic launch of the series. Sales data has not been available since Doom Eternal’s 3 million milestone, but it has been confirmed that Doom Etern generated $5 billion in revenue within a year.

Doom: Given the pace at which The Dark Ages hit a milestone, I expect it to have longer legs than Eternal.
