Hilary Perchard appointed CEOs of Foxtel, Kayo and Binge

Foxtel Group has tapped Foxtel Retail and Hubbl CEO Hilary Perchard to enter a new era under the ownership of global sports streamer Dazn, taking over the Foxtel, Kayo and Binge brands.

In an email to staff on Wednesday, Foxtel Group CEO Patrick Delany announced that Perchard will oversee all subscription revenue, continue to manage entertainment content, and continue to work with Foxtel Media CEO Mark Frain.

Rebecca McCroy, executive director of commercial sports and operations, and Steve Crawley, managing director of Fox Sports, will remain in that position.

Perchard joined Foxtel Group in 2021 from Activision Blizzard, a US-based interactive entertainment company, where he was Chief Revenue Officer.

His previous experience includes strategy, revenue, marketing, working as a direct consumer president for digital and consumers at Fox Networks Group, spending ten years at Sky UK. There, he leads customer marketing, customer retention, loyalty, product management, product marketing teams and the establishment of Sky’s Emerging U.S. Investment Office.

The restructuring comes after Dazn completed its $3.4 billion acquisition of Foxtel Group last month, and announced plans to take over the company that owned 65% at News Corp and 35% at Telstra in December last year.

Since then, up to 100 staff have been reportedly redundant, and the company’s marketing and engineering team is the most affected.

As part of his email, Delaney said the business will continue on a “transformational journey” and there will be many changes to unfold over the coming weeks.

“If there is a change, leaders will talk to the affected teams, work with each affected team, support them when they leave the business, treat them with respect, dignity and equity, and acknowledge everything they have contributed to the success of the Foxtel group.”
