After the night revealed Marathon’s gameplay, which confirmed the game’s September release date, it was confirmed that the game would not adopt a free-to-play model and instead opt for a premium paid model.
Bungie responded quickly to a report that the game would be “full priced.” This could mean between 60-80 USD in this era by making sure the game is treated as a premium title rather than a “full price”.
The marathon will be a premium title. The marathon is not a “full price” title.
Details about this summer will be announced.

The official pricing has not been confirmed yet, so players are guessing exactly what that means.
The decision is to split online audiences who believe in paid releases, in addition to confirmed battle passes and microtransactions, but given the marathon on sale, it’s not the best value proposition given that only three maps have been released on the fourth map right after its release.
Bungie has confirmed that more pricing information will continue in the coming months.
