The video landed on Netflix on April 24th, this time on Netflix, this time on Joe’s Back Where It began: New York City. But now he’s returned with wealth, power and a carefully curated public image – thanks to his new life with Kate, he is the heir of good fortune. Season 1: Hello, you
The story begins in New York. There, bookstore manager Joe Goldberg meets graduate student and aspiring author Ginnever Beck. Joe quickly becomes engrossed and quickly gets in the way. After stealing her phone, he gains access to her digital life and begins to monitor every movement of her, believing that his obsession is justified by love.
Joe eliminates anyone who threatens the “relationship.” First, Beck’s casual boyfriend Benji is killed with coffee that has overcome peanuts and disposed of in the far-off forest. Beck’s wealthy and possessive best friend Peach Salinger then finally films on a trip to the family’s property before Joe first attempts a BL lol.
Despite the rising darkness around them, Joe and Beck continue their on and off relationship. Beck develops doubtful growth and begins to investigate Joe’s past, particularly his story about a mysterious ex-girlfriend named Candice. Beck is imprisoned in the basement of a bookstore after discovering a hidden box filled with her friend’s belongings and evidence of Joe’s crime. She betrays Joe in a short time and locks him, but her attempt to escape fails. Joe kills her and frames her therapist, Dr. Nicky, for murder.
When Joe appears to have escaped it, Candice is presumed dead – enters the bookstore. The past has not yet ended with him.
Season 2: Love in LA
Joe escapes to Los Angeles with a new name: Will Bethelheim. He tries to start something fresh and imprison the real will in the storage unit to assume his identity. Eventually, Joe meets Love Quinn, a charismatic chef from a powerful local family, and her troubled twin brother, 40.
Joe’s efforts to stay in a straight, narrow state will quickly weaken. He becomes friends with teenager Ellie, a journalist investigating celebrity abuse, and her sister Delilah, and soon relies on stalking and manipulation. Love’s group of friends is confused, and Joe tries to navigate Beck’s hallucinations as he suppresses Beck’s hallucinations and stands up against his new nemesis.
Candice tries to expose Joe at the Quinn Family Retreat, but Ai intervenes and kills her. With a big twist, Love reveals that she has been chasing Joe the whole time, committing her own murder. Joe is ready to kill her – until it becomes clear that she is pregnant.
Joe and Love move to the suburbs, raising a child, and Joe quietly points out his interest in the woman next door.
Season 3: Suburban Troubles
In Madre Linda, Joe and Love seem to live domestic dreams and raise their young son Henry. However, beneath the surface, the respray brewing. Joe becomes obsessed with the local librarian Marienne, and Ai begins a relationship with college student Theo.
When Joe’s gaze with her neighbor Natalie leads to love and discovers another hidden box, she kills Natalie in anger. Together, they try to hide it and maintain the united front. But their marriage begins to unravel – both are lying, both are dishonest, both are spiral.
Efforts to fit their community, including becoming friends with influencer couple Shelley and Cary, backfired when a failed attempt on a polyamorous night turns into a different glass cage situation. After overlooking the murder confession, Ai imprisons Conrad. Meanwhile, Joe deepens Marienne’s pursuit and even kills her abusive ex, Ryan.
Eventually, Love discovers Joe’s betrayal and prepares to kill him, but Joe again goes outmane her. He poisons her with the Aconite, stages a murderous suicide, leaving Henry to the care of a trusted friend. Joe then flees to Europe in search of Marienne and ends the season in Paris.
Season 4: The Murderer of London
In season 4, we’re watching Joe in London. He now lives as Professor Jonathan Moore thanks to a new identity arranged by the Fixers of Love Family. He taught literature and found himself drawn into a new circle of great social friends. Among them is Kate Galvin, a vigorously protected woman who slowly becomes the next fixation.
Joe tries to keep it low, but his body starts to fall. He was contacted by a mysterious, horrifying mailer who claims to know his true identity and accuses him of murder. The new guy, dubbed “Eat the Rich Killer,” drives Joe into a passive game of cats and mice.
Joe doubts the charismatic author, politically hopeful Rhys Montrose. The RHYS he communicated with does not exist. He is hallucinated, a product of Joe’s psychotic break, after he invites him into a hidden cage without recalling it.
Student Nadia eventually finds Marienne and devises a plan for her escape. Meanwhile, Joe kills Kate’s father, Tom Lockwood, and allows Kate to help reconstruct his identity. Nadia is framed for murder and Joe returns to New York as it is presumed that Marienne has died. This time as a person of wealth and influence – his worst self was ultimately ignored.
