Media and Marketing Expert Sara Melrose has replaced Glen Hamilton with the role of Screen Producer (SPA) as Chief Operating Officer.
Earlier this month, Hamilton announced that he was leaving the organization after more than four and a half years to work as Optus General Manager for the NSW Central Coast and North Coast.
“It was a privilege to work with these passionate and talented people, defend the screen industry, and defend the importance of Australian narratives on screen,” Hamilton wrote on LinkedIn.
“There’s still work to do, but I’m proud of everything we’ve achieved and the legacy we’ve built together.”
Melrose brings nearly 15 years of advertising and media experience to this role, spending over five years as general manager of digital marketing agency Admatic, before serving as performance director for internet marketing service AQKA Media.
Her career also includes stints from UK agents, MSIX & Partners (now known as T&M), Kingpin Communications and McDonald Butler Associates.
Spa CEO Matthew Diener said Melrose’s skill set and experience made her “the perfect fit for the spa as she continues to serve its members.”
“On behalf of Spa, I would like to thank Glenn for his outstanding contributions and hope that he will be the best in his next chapter,” he said.
“At the same time, we are delighted to be able to welcome Sarah as the new COO.”
The appointment comes before Spa’s Screen Forever Conference on the Gold Coast, which will be held from May 6-8.
