Silent Hill F Australian classification removed

Update: After noting that Silent Hill F was denied classification in Australia, the list has been removed from the Classification Committee website. It is not clear whether the original list was incorrect or if it was re-warranted or changed.

The Australian Classification Committee responded to a request for comment in the following statement:

“Silent Hill F is not currently classified as a “rejected classification” in Australia. The entry in the National Classification Database for March 14, 2025 has been deleted. Prior to the release of the game, the classification decision will be published in the National Classification Database. ”

Original Story: Silent Hill F was revealed a few weeks ago, but in typical Australian ways it has been rejected for classification in Australia. It’s been several years since the latest game was rejected for classification, but this is the most famous game of age.

The list of classification websites shows that classification by the IARC Global Assessment Tool has been rejected, but no further information is provided.

I contacted the Classification Committee and the local distributors of Silent Hill F to see if there was a reason for rejection and what the next step was.

There is no release date for Silent Hill F, but given that it was submitted for classification, it should quickly become quite a bit.

I know this game is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC (Xbox Play Anywhere Support). This is a new story set in rural Japan in the 1960s, when Shimizu’s secluded town was consumed by a sudden mist, turning her home into an unforgettable nightmare.

From this point on, like all silent hill games, it becomes a twisted story where Hinako has to solve puzzles and fight monsters.
