The trailer for Government Cheese, a surreal Apple TV+ Crime-Comedy series starring David Oyelowo, starring executives, and dropped. Please see the above for more details.
The Ten-Episode series, set in the 1969 San Fernando Valley, features Oyelowo playing Hampton Chambers. Hampton Chambers is a man fresh from prison who hopes to be reunited seamlessly with his wife Astoria (Simone Missick) and sons Einstein (Evan Ellison) and Harrison (Jahi Di’allo Winallo Winallo Winallo). Instead, he finds a family that has been adapted to in his absence.
“I came up with a plan to give our family a Chatsworth toast while I was away,” Hampton declares in the trailer, introducing his unique invention. But family dynamics aren’t his only hurdle. He also borrows money from local gangs. As the catchphrase warns, “A second chance is never easy.”
“It’s the only way I can quantify it, so I’m describing it as a parabolic, surrealistic, absurd family comedy,” Oiello said in a variety sit-in. I had never seen it. โ
The series was co-created by Paul Hunter and Aisha Kerr, and Hunter painted pictures from his own upbringing. “My father was jailed, but every time we met him, he had all these ideas about how he was going to do these different things,” he said in an interview with the same breed. “He was very optimistic and very creative.”
The ensemble cast also includes Jean Michel Richard, London Garcia, Girari Les Colour, Bokime Woodbine, Jeremy Bob, Louis Kanselmi, Julien Herron, Girari Les Colour, Louis Ferreira, Thomas Beedin, John Ortiz and Adam Beach.
Government Cheese, a 10-episode series, begins on April 16th with a 4-episode drop on Apple TV+ and will be paid weekly in installments until May 28th.
