This is a big series! The official trailer dropped for Mobland, a Paramount + crime drama that lets viewers go deeper into the hearts of London’s criminals. With Guy Ritchie serving as executive producer and director of two episodes (according to IMDB), and with a heavyweight cast led by Pierce Brosnan, Helen Mirren and Tom Hardy, this is something to be noted. Set against the backdrop of two rebuttal criminal families, Mobland follows the ruthless Harrigan and longtime rival Stevensons. Brosnan plays Conrad Harrigan, the smooth but deadly patriarch of his family’s empire, but Mirren’s Maeve is the true mastermind who pulls the strings. He chases after her as the trailer teases him. The one caught up in chaos is Hardy’s Harry da Sousa, a street-savvy fixer. His job is to clean up the mess, but he finds himself caught up in a deadly conflict that is as valuable as a loaded gun.
The trailer wastes no time introducing the show’s intense stakes. Hardy is drawn in full-blowing mode, guns are drawn, fists are clenched, and Brosnan delivers an ominous line of being “hunger” that invites betrayal every turn. Alongside the major trio, Mobrand’s impressive ensemble includes Paddy Condigin, Joanne Froggut, Lara Pulver, Emily Barber, Mandeep Dillon, Anson Boone, Jasmine Jobson, Jeff Bell, Daniel Betts and Lisa Dwan. Mobland is produced in collaboration with MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios and is produced by Keith Cox, Nina L. Diaz, David C. Glasser, Guy Richie, Jez Butterworth, Ronan Bennett, Christikier, Ivan Atkinson, Tom Hardy, Dean Baker, Lomballe, David Heilli and Bob Yari.
Interestingly, Mobland wasn’t always meant to be an original series. The project was originally held at Showtime and was developed as Donovan, a spin-off of the London set of the series Raid Novan. But as the show evolved, it swept those bonds and embraced its own identity. It was announced that the title was changed in February and that it is moving to Paramount+.
It won’t last long until this hits the screen. Paramount+ locked Mobland for the Global Premier on March 30th.
