BBC Studios has appointed CNN International Commercial Director Robi Stanton as EVP and General Manager of Global Media and Streaming for Australia and New Zealand.
Stanton has been with CNN International since July 2023, and her authority focuses on business development, distribution and news monetization in the Asia-Pacific market. Prior to this, she served in multiple senior leadership roles at Warner Bros Discovery and Turner International in both Australia and Singapore, overseeing business management and major teams across content, commercials, marketing, digital and operations.
In her new role, Stanton will work with EVP and General Manager of Kylie Washington at Global Entertainment ANZ to provide regional partners with growth solutions for their bread business while reporting to President Nick Percy of Global Market.
The company has booked as it moves to enhance its offering, updating its BBC.com and the BBC app and launching six high-speed channels in BBC for the first time in Sky NZ. It also expanded its natural history deal with nine TVNZs in its nine landmark series for its premium landmark series, including Asia and Blue Planet III.
Stanton said he was always impressed with BBC Studios’ “an incredible suite of content, services and brands” and the ability to “continually innovate throughout the partnership.”
“I am part of that future, looking forward to fostering the continued growth of the company and its partners in the local industry and working with the talented team at the BBC Studio,” she said.
Percy said Stanton has a “experimental track record of innovation and driving growth across digital, content and brands.”
“We have ambitious plans for world-leading content, channels, digital platforms and streaming services. In this fast-evolving industry, we are pleased that Robi will lead the way for ANZ’s BBC studios,” he said.
Stanton will begin her role on March 26th.
