The official trailer for Formula 1: Drive to Survive Season 7 has arrived. Take a look at the drama that unfolded during the 2024 Formula 1 season. As always, Netflix Docuseries offers an inner view of the sport’s biggest rivals, off-track tensions, and career-defined moments, capturing the nature of Formula 1’s high stakes beyond what fans see on race day. Please see the trailer above for more information.

A season of career change decisions with fierce rivals

Speaking to Netflix’s Tudum, executive producer Tom Hutchings highlighted the show’s focus on personal interests related to sports. “We follow the stories of the best humans. We know it resonates with our audience in the best possible way and packs a bigger punch.”

The new season delves into some of the most dramatic moments of the year, from Lewis Hamilton’s decision to leave Mercedes to navigate his next career move. There’s a lot of tension between teammates, including the midseason re-shuffle drama, Red Bull’s internal struggles and more.

Which drivers and teams will the season be characterized?

This season is a mix of returning champions, rising stars and influential figures who pilot the team throughout the turbulent year. On the driver’s front, fans will be navigating the highest and lowest values at Ferrari with Randororis and Oscar Piastri moving forward with McLaren, while Carlos Sign Jr. and Charles LeClair navigating the highest and lowest values at Ferrari. Lewis Hamilton’s career-determining move over Mercedes and left George Russell to prove as the team’s new leader. Red Bull’s Max Verstappen continues his dominant run, but the tension within the team, especially alongside Sergio Pérez, is perfect for changing the dynamics. Meanwhile, Daniel Ricciardo fights to reestablish himself on the grid, and young talent Jacques Duhan steps into the spotlight.

Behind the scenes, team principals play an important role in shaping the story of the season. Mercedes Totowolf, McLaren’s Zack Brown and Red Bull’s Christian Horner will put pressure on them as the championship battle intensifies. At Ferrari, Fred Vasser is trying to solidify his team’s return, while Williams boss James Bowles is working to rebuild his former great team. Alpine shakes things up with the return of Flavio Briatore, known for both his past success and controversy.

The season consists of around 10 episodes, each of which has earned a major turning point this year.
