Earlier this week, we unveiled some of the Commander decks from the Magic: The Gathering Final Fantasy set that will be appearing earlier this week, and then got a preview of this morning with the release of new cards and products.
The highly anticipated set includes a retro treatment and a familiar card that will return as a reprint. This set features characters that span the entire mainline Final Fantasy title. Cards of Final Fantasy character designers Yoshitaka Amano and Titsuyawamura were also featured in preview.

This is not the first game collaboration we’ve seen from Magic: The Gathering. Last year we saw Assassin’s Creed and Fallout Set, as well as many other game titles that have appeared in the past.
There are a few cool new features on cards like the following:
SAGA CREATURES – Summons appear in this set as part of the magic. Players can call summons for assistance in combat.
Double Face Card – Double Face Card Magically Returns: Gathering – Fantasy. By casting the front of the card for mana cost and meeting the required conditions, players can convert it and experience alternative forms! Iconic Final Fantasy characters, mini-games, story moments, and more are represented by double cards throughout the set.
