The wasteland is calling again. Fallout Season 2 will be bigger if what star Walton Goggins has to say is any indication.
“Goggins, who plays the former actor-turned-actor Matting Bounty Hunting Ghoul in the series, shared an exciting update while attending the White Lotus Season 3 red carpet premiere.”
“We’ve been working on it since November while we were filming it now,” he said at the deadline. “And I can say I thought Season 1 was extraordinary. Personally, I was very pleased with it.”
He then made it a notch. “This blows it out of the water. What these writers did and the artisans gathered to tell this story… it’s going to be something. I can’t wait for people to see it. Not. We’re working really hard to make it happen.”
It’s an exciting and bold promise, especially considering how well the first season was received. Based on Bethesda’s iconic video game franchise, the Prime Video series dropped viewers into a rote futistic wasteland where survivors emerge from underground vaults after nuclear devastation.
Season 2 saw several behind-the-scenes changes, including changes in production from New York to Los Angeles. Filming was suspended due to a California wildfire, but it has since resumed. The cast is also growing. Macaulay Culkin attended the show. There are also rumours that Kumile Nanjiani may be on board (though it has not been officially made for that reason).
Executive producer Jonathan Nolan hinted at even more confusion in a 2024 interview with Rap, saying, “Monsters, more environments, more factions are currently designing and building (…). So we’re I’m really excited.”
Goggins will return to screen when White Lotus Season 3 premieres on February 16th, but Fallout fans must be patient. But judging from his excitement, it should be worth the wait.
