“Friendship” Trailer: Tim Robinson and Paul Rudd have a bumpy bromance in a dark comedy

The A24 has released the first trailer for Friendship For Friendship, a quirky comedy that combines Paul Rudd. Look up.

This plot continues with Craig Waterman (Robinson). He likes New Balance Shoes, Marvel Movies and Subway Sandwiches. He has a stable home with his wife Tami (Kate Mara) and son Stephen (Jack Dylan Glaser). He doesn’t see any reason to shake things up. Until Austin Carmichael (Rad) moves next to him.

Austin is a local Weatherman and musician, friendly yet enigmatic, confident, yet oddly vulnerable. Craig is eager to latch onto him soon and build a bond. Unfortunately, his enthusiastic and troublesome attempts at friendship begin to get out of control, threatening to overturn his carefully maintained life. “Look, there were some really nice hangs,” Austin tells Craig. “But I think it’s best for us to go separate ways… I don’t want to continue this friendship.”

Andrew Deyoung writes the script and makes his feature directorial debut with friendship. His past works include directing episodes of comedy series like Dave, Miracle Worker and Our Flag.

Speaking with the September 2024 deadline, Deyoung revealed that the story came from personal experience. “These species appeared during 2018. I asked a new friend, someone I thought I would be someone I worked with… The job is finished. I ask them to hang out. And I found myself blown away and spinning out about it,” he shared. “I’ve never seen the friendship between two grown men fall apart in a certain way in a movie, so I just played with the idea and ended up with this one.”

Robinson was immediately drawn into the project and informed the deadline in the same interview. In many ways, it was really interesting and sad, so I liked how sad the characters were. ”

Rudd is related to the tone of the script and is also drawn to the balance between the humor and patos of the story. “I love the things that exist in a funny, sad world where everyone is trying to do their best, but they try to do it well, but they don’t have the tools to do it well.” He said.

Additionally, the Friendship starring Josh Segara, Billy Blyke and John Glazer will open in US cinemas in May.
