The PlayStation Network went down at around 10:20am yesterday, 24 hours later. I’ve now returned to the full online, tweeting that my PlayStation is now fully restored.
There is no explanation as to why it went down (and no compensation), but PlayStation apologized online in the tweet below.
“The PSN has been restored. You should now be able to access the online features without any problems. For more information, please visit https://status.playstation.com for the inconvenience!”

This was the longest outage of the PlayStation network since 2011, when the PlayStation network was launched for 21 days after the attack. This was nowhere, but it was certainly a bad time when the massive Monster Hunter Wiles beta was happening over the weekend.
Down Detector shows a very consistent stream of complaints over a 24-hour period, showing people who can’t start digital games, and even (minor) complaints that PS5 Pro owners are unable to connect their disk drives .
