Over the course of more than a decade, JK Rowling and Warner Bros. brought the world of Harry Potter to life on the big screen with eight films based on the blockbuster Harry Potter books. The series has grossed nearly $8 billion in theaters around the world, and the three Fantastic Beasts spinoff films are set to gross an additional $2 billion over the next six years.

While Rowling was passionate about movies, she wrote that it would be “utterly impossible for her to incorporate all of my stories into a film that had to fit within four hours.”

Warner Bros. Discovery may have found a solution to that dilemma with a major Lord of the Rings-style television series based on Harry Potter. Or, according to the latest reports, it could be multiple series. Click here for everything you need to know about the upcoming animated TV adaptation.

In October 2024, all eight movies in the original series will be available to stream on both Max and Peacock. Usually these go back and forth between the two networks, and Max makes sense since new TV series are headed there. Fantastic Beasts movies are available on Max.
