Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and AWR Music Productions have announced that the internationally acclaimed concert experience, Distant Worlds: music from Final Fantasy, will be held at Melbourne’s Hammer Hall from 23 to 25 July.

Performed by the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, the concert will showcase a variety of themes and songs from the Final Fantasy series, including games such as Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy VIII, Final Fantasy IX, Final Fantasy XIV, and the latest installment, Final Fantasy XVI.

Audiences will experience the music of Japanese composer Nobuo Uematsu, including “Hymn/The Sent”, “Zanarkand” and “It’s Wonderful”, and original Japanese vocalist RIKKI will also perform in his Australian debut.

At this concert, the world premiere of Thunder Planes from Final Fantasy X, composed by Masashi Hamauzu, will be performed. Masashi Hamauzu will also be in attendance.

Finally, the concert will be conducted by Grammy Award-winning maestro Ernie Ross, and will feature over 100 musicians and choirs taking to the stage to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Final Fantasy X.

Tickets will be on sale from 10am on Wednesday, February 25th. More information, including ticket prices and specific start times for each concert date, can be found here.
