Netflix has released the official trailer for Bridgerton Season 4 Part 2. Benedict and Sophie’s romance is heading into dangerous territory. Watch the trailer above and read on to find out what to expect from the final four episodes.
The moment in the stairwell changes everything.
Part 1 ended with Benedict’s impulsive question that tilted the world in the stairwell of Bridgerton House. The trailer for “Will You Be My Mistress?” Part 2 then begins, with Sophie keeping her distance and Benedict suddenly looking less like Tong’s charming free spirit and more like someone who realizes the stakes are very real.
Luke Thompson hints that Benedict’s head position is changing. “This may not be the story we expected from Benedict,” the actor told Netflix’s site Tudum. “This is a completely different Benedict than we see in Part 2.” The trailer explores the reality that choosing Sophie as a maid doesn’t just spark gossip. That could potentially shut the door forever, including within his own family.
“I can’t love a maid,” an exasperated Benedict says to Sophie in the trailer. “And yet you have me hooked.”
Sophie’s wariness feels equally central. Star Yerin Ha told TuDum: “She doesn’t trust people who say, ‘I promise you this,’ because that was never the case with Sophie.”
Homecoming, hard truths, and a little support
Anthony (Jonathan Bailey) returns from India with Kate (Simone Ashley), and the trailer suggests Benedict will get an outspoken older brother perspective, as well as a glimpse of their baby, the new heir.
At Sophie’s side is Alfie (David Moorst), a valet at Pennwood House, who urges her to be courageous rather than retreating. Whether she’s ready to believe in something permanent is a bigger question.
Violet’s Choice, Mrs. Danbury’s Frustration, and Whistledown’s Drift
Beyond the main romance, Part 2 also gets busy with the rest of Mayfair. Violet and Sir Marcus Anderson (Daniel Francis) continue to revolve around something more meaningful. Showrunner Jess Brownell said, “This is the one where she finally allows herself to ask for what she wants.” This is quietly a major change for the Bridgerton patriarch, and it may come with its own social costs.
Lady Danbury (Adjoa Andoh) is still opposed to Queen Charlotte (Golda Rochevel) after being denied the chance to leave Tong, while Francesca (Hannah Dodd) and the Stirling family are recalibrating with Michaela’s arrival. And of course, Penelope (Nicola Coughlan) remains a wild card, as she’s closer to being queen than ever.
