56 Days Trailer: Dove Cameron and Avan Jogia’s Lewd Romance Turns Deadly in Prime Video’s Erotic Thriller Series

Prime Video has released the official trailer for 56 Days, a sophisticated erotic thriller series starring Dove Cameron and Avan Jogia. Love, obsession, and murder quickly collide. Watch the trailer above and read on to find out what’s revealed.

Romance hardened by doubts

Based on the best-selling novel by Katherine Ryan Howard, 56 Days begins with a chance encounter in a supermarket between Ciara Wise (Cameron) and Oliver Kennedy (Jogia). The connection is instantaneous and consumes more. Fifty-six days later, homicide detectives arrive at Oliver’s apartment and discover a deliberately decomposed and brutally murdered body.

The series unfolds across two timelines. One is the pressure-cooker day of the main investigation, and the other is the dizzying escalation of Ciara and Oliver’s relationship in the weeks leading up to it. The central question always remains: did he kill her, or did she kill him? “I’m going to get you,” Ciara says to Oliver at one point in the trailer, both sensual and somehow sinister. He replies in a similar manner: “Not if I get you first.”

Ciara’s friend Shyla (Megan Peta Hill) is quick to sense the danger, while investigators Lee Reardon (Carla Souza) and Carl Connolly (Dorian Missick) are left to figure out whether this is a crime of passion, manipulation, or something darker.

Obsession, secrecy, and emotional impact

In People magazine, Cameron described Ciara and Oliver as “two deeply lonely people who are not only attracted to each other, but bonded by trauma,” adding, “Their romance is a chemistry fueled by obsession and a desire to be understood.”

That volatility is at the heart of the show’s tension. Both characters are hiding something. Oliver has a second ID with a different name, but Ciara’s surface innocence becomes increasingly hard to read. Jogia frames the series as “more about compatibility than morality and the uneasy way that hurt people sometimes come together,” positioning the story as a study of emotional conflict rather than simple guilt.

Creators Lisa Zwaring and Karin Asher promised that the show would be just as “satisfying” as the book, teasing that “every thread of the story pays off,” adding, “Her book was a show that gave us sexy and emotional thrills… It was very important to us that she was happy.”

Behind the scenes and release details

“56 Days” is written and executive produced by Zwerling and Usher, with James Wan, Michael Clear and Rob Hackett serving as executive producers through Atomic Monster. Katherine Ryan Howard also serves as co-executive producer, and the author remains involved in the transition from page to screen, including changes such as relocating the story to Boston.

All eight episodes of 56 Days will be released exclusively on Prime Video on February 18th.
