18 individuals, 18 business proposals to share $5.2 million in Screen Australia Enterprise funding

Screen Australia has announced that 18 individual opportunities and 18 business proposals will share $5.2 million in enterprise funding.

Winners include Ten4 Media, a Northern Territory-based company specializing in observational documentaries that capture unique stories and landscapes. Fremantle company Artemis Media is known for “Maggie Beer’s Big Mission” and “Who Do You Think You Are?” Swift Street Producers, Magpie Pictures, Regional NSW;

Among the individuals receiving funding is 07 year creator Casey Anning, who will spend six months working at US company Paper Planes. Joshua Yassery, 2023 Fresh Blood Recipient, will embark on a 12-month stint at Studio Gilay. and Ruby Davies, who recently worked on Adam Elliott’s next feature Memoir of a Snail, will sign a 12-month deal with Arena Media.

Screen Australia’s Indigenous Affairs Department has invested $1 million in the program to support four Indigenous businesses – Djali House, Lone Star Company, No Coincidence Media and Pandamonium Films – and solo practitioners Travis Akbar, Isaac Cohen Lindsay and Joshua Yasserie .

Screen Australia COO Grainne Brunsdon said the agency “creates sustainable businesses, fosters creative entrepreneurship, supports individuals to build their careers and creates Australian stories for global industry.” He said he is committed to “doing so.”

“We are excited to support such a diverse range of companies from across Australia and a placement that will provide local practitioners with vital upskilling as they develop their careers here and around the world.” she said.
