All good things must come to an end, including the 2024 Paris Olympics. Last night (and early this morning for those of us Down Under) we said goodbye to the world’s biggest sporting event with a spectacular closing ceremony at the Stade de France.
As expected, Australia had their best performance at the overseas Olympics, finishing in fourth place with a total of 53 medals. This number is second only to the 58 medals won at the 2000 Sydney Olympics.
Her medal tally in Paris included an Australian record-breaking 18 gold medals, 19 silver medals and 16 bronze medals. A true ripper effort for our greens and golds!
